so I was feeling neglectful . . .
I decided it was time to update RE: free time gone, uni slowly taking over life once again, so here goes!
Workload: negligible, because uni insists on being an exponential graph and not anything resembling an even spread *sigh*. So I'm torn between wishing I could get STARTED on all these assignments, dammit, and trying to enjoy the breathing space.
Courses: interesting, so far. Doing my first Earth/Marine science course as well as the usual Biology ones, and enjoying them despite being MILES away from anything else on campus. It's closest to Law, for heaven's sake! But the pracs are certainly low-stress, which is nice.
Research project: not involving assembling genomes this time, unfortunately :P I'll be doing the next step, using said assemblies to find genes in common with different E. coli strains (yes, those microbes in your gut. Also in your lakes!) But so far all I've done is download 18 genomes off the interwebs - hopefully actual analysis will occur soon!
Plus I've been rereadingfahye's beautiful Dr Who fanfics, and sparking off my own long-dormant one . . . which is exciting but problematic, given said uni commitments! Oh the joys of ill-timed inspiration >.>
