Dear Yuletide Author - 2014

Hello Yuletide Author!

This is my third Yuletide, hoping I can keep the momentum going! First of all, if you have an idea for an amazing story that you're dying to write, please go ahead and write that! These are just some starting points if you want them :D

Fandom 1: Maleficent (2014) [Diaval, Maleficent]

'DIAVAL BEING SARCASTIC. Really, if you just gave me some dialogue where he's arguing with Maleficent and being generally awesome, I would be very happy!'

Diaval was the best part of the movie, so anything you do with him would be fantastic. What mischief does he (and Maleficent) get up to now that Aurora's all grown up? Maybe you could write some more scenes with both of them from Aurora's childhood, or some backstory of Diaval before he met Maleficent?

Fandom 2: The Brothers Bloom (2008) [Bloom, Penelope, Bang Bang]

'Future adventures of these three! What crazy escapade does Penelope drag them into next?'

I love how much FUN the movie is, with wacky characters working together and creating a narrative that then shapes them back. Anything along the lines of the movie, really, post-Stephen - can they still pull off cons without his direction? Or are they doing something else? That said, any backstory would be awesome as well.

Fandom 3: The Immortals - Tamora Pierce [Veralidaine Sarrasri, Numair Salmalin]

'Adventures with creatures, immortal or otherwise!'

These two are ADORABLE, but I especially love the animals and assorted magical creatures/gods in the books. Maybe they find a new kind of immortal and first contact doesn't kick off so well? Any other characters you want to throw in there (from other series, if you like!) are welcome.

Fandom 4: The Book Thief - Markus Zusak [Liesel Meminger, Max Vandenburg]

'Liesel and Max making words and pictures.'

One of my favourite parts of the book is the story Max makes for Liesel. Maybe they can use their gifts for words and comfort each other for surviving the war, and make a new craftwork out of it. Darkfic is fine, as long as there are some points of light as well!

In general:

I like humour (dark or light), wordplay, clever people being clever, worldbuilding, action and so on. Any crossovers/AUs/gen/slash/het you feel like throwing in there is fine!

I don't like explicit torture descriptions, or extensive sex scenes - people getting hurt or horny is fine, but please avoid graphic details.

You can look on my journal to see what I like, or the couple of stories I have on Ao3. Thank you for sharing my love for these incredible fandoms, and enjoy yourself writing them! Happy Yuletide!
