I'm trying not to feel depressed at having spent the second long weekend in a row much like the first one - frantically doing uni work. No, this is a good thing, I got lots of stuff done! Right?
This time it was mostly chemistry study for my exam tomorrow (yikes!), polishing my CV with Fahye's help so people will want to give me jobs over Christmas, and yet another biology assignment with stats (sigh).
I have discovered how much Excel and I don't get along. I'm trying to tell it to do a graph like this and it's desperately hanging on to the old format. Or not wanting to put two things on the same graph. If it's misunderstanding me deliberately, there MUST be a conspiracy going on.

I did get to perform with my band . . . in the rain (under a shelter). It was at a Highland Gathering so there were lots of people in kilts wandering around :D That was enjoyable. And I finished reading Ender's Game (by Orson Scott Card) for the first time, and . . . man, that book blew me away. I spent the entire time thinking how awful and wonderful human nature seemed in this world - but it rang completely true. All the best sci-fi stories that examine the weird workings of our moralities disturb you while being so based in reality you can't deny it. Or so I've found.
I'll read the sequel (Speaker for the Dead) my friend has also lent me, once I finish re-reading Fruits Basket and read Sarah Rees Brennan's new book Unspoken. Fahye assures me it is just as fantastic and funny and heartbreaking as the Demon's Lexicon series was, so . . . in I'll go, armed with a tissue box :O
